Twigg, Baker dump Derry

GOALS from Gary Twigg and Dessie Baker saw Shamrock Rovers do a professional job at Derry City last night and earn a semi-final spot.
The visitors felt they should have had a penalty just before the break when Sean O'Connor's left wing centre found Dessie Baker and his diving header was blocked on the line by Mark Scoltock, but ref Declan Hanney waved away the protests.
Rovers took the lead after a flowing move that ended with O'Connor's right-wing cross finding Twigg, who planted his downward header into Eugene Ferry's bottom right-hand corner.
Rovers increased their lead on 58 minutes and effectively ended the tie as contest when Baker blasted home after Scoltock let the ball bounce inside the area.
Derry did manage to get a goal back on 84 minutes when Mark Farren was on hand to turn the ball home, after Alan Mannus could only push out McEleney's shot.
