Manchester United are monitoring Wolfsburg's £20m defender Ricardo Rodriguez, while the Red Devils may face Premier League competition for Serie A goalkeeper.
The Sun have reported that United have targeted the Swiss international this month with the club currently in the midst of a defensive injury crisis.
Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are all on the sidelines with problems.
Spanish giants Real Madrid are also interested in the 23-year-old.
Rodriguez has played for Wolfsburg against United this season.
England international Ryan Bertrand, on the Southampton side that claimed victory at Old Trafford for the second consecutive season, is another on the United radar.
According to the report, he would cost in the region of £20m.
Another new name to be thrown into the transfer hat this morning is Genoa’s Mattia Perin.
According to the Daily Mirror, Matteo Darmian is said to have spoken to the young goalkeeper, who is being touted as potential replacement for David De Gea, should his long-awaited move to Real Madrid transpire.
Perin, who has caught Liverpool’s attention in the past, was apparently watched by the club’s scouts during I Rossoblu’s Serie A meeting with Hellas Verona later on Sunday.
