Liverpool vice-captain could be set for a move to Barcelona after reportedly handing in a transfer request to the club.

Speculation has continued to grow that the Danish defender wants to leave after failing to secure regular first-team football under Brendan Rodgers and The Daily Mirror says a 'tearful' Agger pleaded with Rodgers to let him leave, with the Catalans favourite to add their second Liverpool player this summer.

Manchester United are in the papers again, though it's not regarding Arturo Vidal. The Express says the club have been given hope in their bid to sign £30m-rated Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, but face competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid, while Inter Milan are willing to sell Colombian Freddy Guarin to the Red Devils (The Daily Star). The same paper suggests United could also beat Barcelona to the £32m signing of Jaun Cuadrado.

Daniel Levy could be a busy man over the next few weeks. The Mirror says the North London club are confident of landing PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay - even though midfielder Nacer Chadli would not be prepared to go the other way in part-exchange, while a €17m deal for Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio should go through despite a hitch over third-party issues.

Napoli have their sights set on midfielders Marouanne Fellaini and Lucas Leiva (The Sun) while The Daily Mail suggest West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame could move to London rivals West Ham. Speaking of the Hammers, The Telegraph adds that the club want striker Peter Crouch but have been put off by Stoke City's £3m asking price.
