Atletico have no shortage of funds after selling some of their top players and are eyeing Nacho Monreal to fill the void left by Luis Filipe’s departure to Chelsea.

Monreal ahs slipped down the pecking order since arriving from Malaga, while another Spaniard in Arsene Wenger’s squad, Santi Cazorla is also on Diego Simeone’s radar according to The Guardian.

AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli continues to be linked with a return to the Premier League, with some papers suggesting Arsenal is the most likely destination if his £5m-a-year wage demands are met (The Daily Mail), while others suggesting that Wenger has decided to end his interest in the player (The Daily Star).

Manchester United continues to be linked with every starting player from the Netherland’s World Cup campaign, with Daley Blind the latest. The Express believe a £17m offer is in the pipeline. Mats Hummels is still a £16m option at the back according to The Express.

Despite holding talks with Trabzonspor last night, Kolo Toure looks more likely to move to the Middle East (The Times), while another Turkish side, Besiktas, are keen on Fulham's £11m Costa Rica striker Bryan Ruiz after his impressive World Cup (Daily Mirror).

The Daily Mirror also suggests that Leicester are targeting former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda as they bid for Premier League safety, while Southampton will battle Deportivo La Coruna for River Plate's £7m-rated striker Teofilo Gutierrez (The Daily Star).
