Chilean World Cup star Vidal has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, rumours that he player has done little to quieten. A number of papers are reporting that yesterday's events will speed up the transfer to Old Trafford and was part of the reason behind Conte’s surprise resignation.

A former United player, Rio Ferdinand, is expected to return to London as Harry Redknapp looks to bolster his playing squad. The Guardian suggests that the arrival of the former England international would boost the club’s chances of signing Cardiff City’s centre-half Steven Caulker, with Leroy Fer also on Redknapp’s wanted list.

Another player looking to pitch-up in London is Sami Khedira. The Real Madrid star has just one year left on his contract and the Spanish giants are willing to off-load the player now than risk losing him for nothing next summer.

The German midfielder is one of the lowest earners at the Bernabeu and it looks like a battle between Chelsea and London for his signature in a £25m move.

The Southampton exodus looks set to continue with Dejan Lovren still touted as a £15m target for Liverpool , while the Daily Star reports that Cardiff are set to bid £4m for Jose Fonte.

Everton are looking to add to their squad, with manager Roberto Martinez closing in on £4m-rated Muhamed Besic from Ferencvaros (The Daily Mail) and £14m-rated Colombian striker Carlos Bacca (The Daily Star).

The Daily Mirror suggests that Hull City manager Steve Bruce is still pursuing Tottenham defender Michael Dawson, with a £4m bid rejected by the North London side.
