Arsenal are considering a £50m offer for PSG star Edinson Cavani with Olivier Giroud sidelined with a tibia injury.
Giroud has been ruled out of tonight's Champions League qualifier against Besiktas with the shin problem sustained in Saturday's draw with Everton and it is feared the 27-year-old could be absent for two to three months, robbing Arsenal of their first choice striker just three games into the season.
Alexis Sanchez led the line against the Toffees but the club are now in the transfer market and Cavani is on the radar having already attracted the attentions of Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Parisian club are listening to offers they feel match their valuation of the player, and The Express says a £50m offer could be placed on the table.
Danny Welbeck (The Daily Mail) and a £20m season-long loan for Radamel Falcao (The Guardian) are other possibilities.
The Star reports that Manchester United are lining up a £20m shock move for Liverpool's Joe Allen, while Manchester City have been told by Everton they will have to fork out £50m for Ross Barkley (The Mirror).
