Transfer Gossip: Eden Hazard wants Chelsea exit as Serie A rivals battle for Fellaini signature

Manchester United could be set for a busy month with a whole host of players linked with moves both to and away from the club
MAN UTD FAIL IN BID FOR MANE
Manchester United appear to have finally made a move to sign Southampton forward Sadio Mane – but their bid has been swiftly rebuffed by the south coast club.
United leaked information last summer suggesting they had bid for Mane, but irate Southampton officials confirmed at the time that no offer had been received for the Senegal forward from the Old Trafford club.
Independent.ie confirmed on Monday that Southampton would not allow Mane to leave this month, with the club eager to get back on track after being sucked towards the relegation zone following a slump in form.
The latest reports claim Mane will not sign a new deal with Saints, yet his club will only listen to offers for the speedy forward next summer and have told United he is not for sale at any price this month.
Southampton’s stance on Mane is unlikely to change, with manager Ronald Koeman going on record to state he will not consider allowing the player to leave for any price in January.
HAZARD “MAKES UP HIS MIND” TO LEAVE CHELSEA
Eden Hazard has decided to leave Chelsea in 2016, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
The Belgian winger only signed a new contract with the Blues last February, but he has not been at his best since putting pen-to-paper on a lucrative new deal.
Hazard has not scored a goal for Chelsea since they clinched the Premier League title with a win against Crystal Palace last May, with his poor form cited by many as a primary reason why Jose Mourinho was sacked as Blues boss last month.
Now it is being reported that Hazard will quit Chelsea at the end of this season, with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid leading the chase for his signature.
Independent.ie reported on Wednesday that Real Madrid Gareth Bale could be part of a swap deal that could see Hazard move to the Spanish capital next summer.
This story is set to run and run.
FELLAINI ATTRACTING INTEREST FROM ITALY
Manchester United utility player Marouane Fellaini could be on his way out of Old Trafford this month, with a host of Italian clubs believed to be chasing the services of the Belgian star who doesn’t appear to be good enough to shine at the top level as either a midfielder or a forward.
Gazetta dello Sport claim that Inter Milan, Juventus and Roma are keen to sign Fellaini ahead of early frontrunners AC Milan, with a fee of £18m mentioned in their reports.
United boss Louis van Gaal has insisted he will not allow Fellaini to leave this month, yet that has not stopped speculation that the 28-year-old who cost United £27.5m in the summer transfer window of 2013 could make a move.
It can only be assumed that Premier League football is not broadcast in Italy as if the club chasing Fellaini had seem him in action of late, they would turn their attentions to alternative targets.
NEWCASTLE DISMISS REPORTS OF LACAZETTE BID
Newcastle United have denied reports that they have agreed a £22m deal to sin Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.
The French and UK media were reporting that Steve McClaren’s relegation strugglers had come to an agreement with Lyon to sign the French striker, with the player refusing to make the move to the North East of England.
Yet Newcastle have let it be known that they have not made a move for the France forward and are continuing to assess their options as they look to add additional firepower to their forward line.
