Dani Alves has been photographed in France ahead of his move to Paris Saint-Germain, with Manchester City appearing to have missed out on one of the top transfer targets.

Alves was widely tipped to link up with his former boss Pep Guardiola at City after he left Juventus last month, with some reports suggesting a deal for the 34-year-old full-back has already been agreed.

Yet it seems Alves has instead opted to play out the final years of his career at Paris, with a two-year deal reported to have been agreed with the French champions.

Alves and his wife were reported to have flown into Paris on Tuesday morning ahead of a medical with PSG, with images now appearing on social media of the smiling Brazilian putting the finishing touches to his move in France.

The player’s decision to join PSG will be a point of frustration to City boss Guardiola, who has struggled to pin down a couple of his key targets this summer, with Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez also believed to be at the top of his wanted list.

City may have more financial firepower than most of their Premier League rivals, but they are still struggling to attract the world’s top stars to a club that is still trying to establish itself as one of the true superclubs of European football.
