Angel Di Maria's replacement at Manchester United may come from the Paris Saint Germain according to reports in the Spanish press.
The 27-year-old completed his £44.3m move to the Ligue 1 champions on Thursday, less than 12 months after joining United from Real Madrid for £59.7million.
It has been reported widely all summer that Barcelona's Pedro has been the primary target for manager Louis van Gaal in an attacking role at Old Trafford.
United have yet to make a formal offer that would trigger the €31m release clause in his contract, but Barcelona accept that the player is eager to move to Manchester and they are openly admitting they cannot stop him leaving for United.
However Superdeporte in Spain reports that Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi could be set for a surprise switch to United.
They suggest that relations are good between the two clubs following Di Maria's transfer and that the 30-year-old would be interested in a Premier League move.
Another player linked with a move to United is yet another midfielder. The Sun says a €25m move for Lazio's Lucas Biglia is being seriously considered by Van Gaal. The 29-year-old Argentinian international is a defensive midfielder, which would be a curious purchase considering the summer signings of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Biglia joined Lazio two years ago and has won 34 international caps for his country.
