Paul Pogba to Manchester United: Frenchman lands in New York as deal edges closer
Paul Pogba has served up a cryptic Twitter message as his high profile summer holiday continued with a trip to New York.
Juventus midfielder Pogba has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks and has used his Instagram and Twitter accounts to build the hype around his imminent move to Old Trafford.
United are confident that they are about to seal a mega-money move to bring Pogba back to Manchester, four years after he left United for nothing following a contract
Yet the presence of the Real Madrid squad in New York as part of their pre-season preparations has sparked scare stories suggesting Pogba may yet move to the Spanish capital instead of returning to Manchester, although that appears to be highly unlikely.
With Juventus apparently ready to sell their star man for a mammoth fee, Pogba's agent, his sponsors and the player himself have been eager to fuel the publicity surrounding the his future in recent weeks with a series of social media prompts.
Now Pogba's latest Twitter message suggests he is frustrated to have been delayed at the airport en-route to a fresh destination:
“Delay of the aircraft. I want to run plays football dribble…flight delay, thinking of football,” was the translation of his latest tweet.
United stars Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have talked up Pogba's imminent transfer in recent days, with a deal believed to be close to Pogba to return to the Premier League.
It seems as if the transfer saga of the summer is edging towards a conclusion, with Pogba due to return to Europe later this week.
