Marko Grujic closing in on Liverpool switch
Despite Jurgen Klopp's insistence that he doesn't need to sign new players in the transfer window, there's one deal which appears to be nailed on.
That is the signing of highly-rated Red Star Belgrade winger Marko Grujic who is thought to be on the verge of joining for £4.3m.
Serbian outlet Mondo are reporting that Liverpool have won the race to sign Grujic but that they are likely to loan him back to Red Star until August to help the Serbian side qualify for next season's Champions League.
Grujic has been linked with a number of top European clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea but Liverpool are said to be in pole position to land the 19-year-old.
“Right now I am at Red Star, we are top of the table and I want to win the title here,” Grujic said of the continued speculation over his future.
The teenager has scored five goals this season to help Red Star move to the top of the Serbian SuperLiga.
While there are unlikely to be too many incomers next month, one player who could be heading the other way is Mamadou Sakho.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport says Roma are interested in the 25-year-old and that the club have been in contact with officials at Anfield.
Sakho is said to be keen to move away from Liverpool having fallen down the pecking order with thoughts of Euro 2016 playing on his mind.
The Frenchman is desperate to make the France squad but knows he will have to be playing regular first-team football.
Sakho has made just 11 appearances for Liverpool this season but injury to Dejan Lovren means Klopp would be unwilling to sanction Sakho's departure.
