Mario Gotze to Liverpool: Kop confident of landing their man in the summer
One of football's longest-running transfer rumours could come to fruition this summer with widespread reports suggestion Mario Gotze is keen to link up with Jurgen Klopp once again.
Even before Klopp arrived at Anfield, Gotze was heavily linked with a move to Merseyside and after starting just one match at Bayern Munich since October, many media outlets in Britain are reporting that the German wants a move to the Premier League this summer.
And with just one year remaining on his Bayern contract, Liverpool could land their man for just £20 million.
Today's reports come just two days after team-mate Thomas Muller revealed that Gotze is not happy with life at Bayern.
"I speak with Mario and think he is not 100 per cent satisfied with his situation at Bayern," Muller said.
"But I am not Mario's agent, so I am not going to speak about his future."
Götze missed four months of this season through injury and has failed to convince outgoing boss Pep Guardiola that he is worthy of a starting place.
"The last two years were definitely not very simple, we'll see what happens," said Gotze last August.
"It will work out if Guardiola talks to me more often. I'm going to let everything come to me. Anything beyond that, we'll see."
