Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could be set for a busy few days in the transfer market with more departures and arrivals before the end of the transfer window.
The writing appears on the wall for goalkeeper David De Gea's time at Old Trafford. While Van Gaal said at the weekend that he could see the Spaniard pulling on the red jersey after he was left out of the squad to face Spurs on Saturday, he appears set for a move to Real Madrid.
The haggling is around the fee, with just 12 months remaining on his contract with United. According to The Star, Los Bloncos have made a take-it-or-leave-it €30m offer. The club are believed to be holding out for a figure closer to €40m.
Pedro has been linked strongly with the club since his release fee of €31m became public knowledge. United have yet to make a formal offer that would trigger the release clause in his contract, but Barcelona accept that the player is eager to move to Manchester and they are openly admitting they cannot stop him leaving for United.
Another player linked with a move to United is yet another midfielder. The Sun says a €25m move for Lazio's Lucas Biglia is being seriously considered by Van Gaal. The 29-year-old Argentinian international is a defensive midfielder, which would be a curious purchase considering the summer signings of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Biglia joined Lazio two years ago and has won 34 international caps for his country.
