Manchester United are set to wrap up their extraordinary £36m signing of 19-year-old Anthony Martial on transfer deadline day - but club skipper Wayne Rooney is in the dark over his new team-mate.
Martial has completed his move ahead of a record breaking deal to Old Trafford, with the 19-year-old set to seal his move before today's 6pm transfer deadline.
He will become the most expensive teenager in soccer history, but Rooney has had to ask his French team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin for information about his incoming team-mate.
"Wayne Rooney came to speak to me and asked me who Martial was, because the English press had started to speak," Schneiderlin revealed.
"I told him he's a great player with great potential, who has played some good matches with Monaco last season and the the beginning of this.
"I told him he is technical and powerful. A little like Thierry Henry, even if it's the press who are making that comparison."
The lavish price tag on Martial's head has set plenty of tongues wagging, but Schneiderlin has insisted the teenager should ignore the hype that will inevitably follow.
"The size of the fee? If he wants my advice, it is to ignore it," the former Southampton man added.
"The media will talk a lot and will expect him to score many goals. But he must remember his qualities and play like he knows how. He can't be paralysed by it. I think everything will go well."
