Piotr Zielinski could be the next name to echo around Anfield, as Liverpool weigh up their move for the Polish midfielder.
21-year-old Zielinski plays for Empoli, on loan from Udinese, and is valued at around £11m.
Goal.com reports that Liverpool would prefer to strike a deal in the summer, and the player is unlikely to favour mid-season disruption as he tries to stake his claim for a place in Poland's Euro 2016 squad.
However, Liverpool may not want to risk that a good showing at the summer tournament might increase both Zielinski's price and his list of admirers.
Zielinski has won 11 caps for his country already, and has registered two goals and four assists in 19 Serie A games so far this season.
With Jurgen Klopp having already tied up a summer deal for 19-year-old Serbian Marko Grukic, from Red Star Belgrade, don't be surprised to see the Reds pursue a similar deal in the case of Zielinski.
