Liverpool legends confident Reds can secure deals for Gary Cahill and Alex Teixeira
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has called on Jurgen Klopp to pull out all the stops in signing Gary Cahill.
Cahill has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after falling out of favour with interim manager, Guus Hiddink.
And Danny Murphy believes the England vice-captain is the perfect man to solve Liverpool's defensive frailties.
“Would he suit Liverpool? Would he be a player that gets into the Liverpool team and make a difference? Yes, he would," Murphy told talksport.
“He’s a terrific lad, a good pro, a good trainer and not a moaner or a whinger.
“He’s a winner and every time I see him play I think he’d die for the team, he gives it everything he’s got. If he does become available, there a few clubs would pay good money for him.”
Liverpool and England legend, John Barnes, says he expects the Reds to bring Alex Teixeira to the club before the window closes on Monday evening.
Barnes, who made 314 appearances in ten years at the club, believes his former club will be able to negotiate a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Liverpool have been heaviliy linked with the Brazilian forward, however the deal has stalled over the disparity between how the two clubs value the 26-year-old.
The Reds had an initial £23 million offer knocked back by the Ukrainian club who remain adamant they will only allow Teixeira to leave for closer to £38 million.
Despite the arguments over the fee, Barnes believes the deal can, and will, be done.
