Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has praised Mario Balotelli, fueling speculation that the Italian could be on his way to Anfield.

Rodgers is still on the lookout for a striker fowllowing the collapse of the Loic Remy deal last week and Marco Reus remains very much on the radar as boomkies today made Liverpool odds-on favourites to sign the German.

But Balotelli is another possibile replacement for Luis Suarez with Rodgers saying: "Balotelli has all the qualities. He’s 6’3”, he’s quick, his touch is terrific, he can score goals and he’s still so young.

"I saw that in this time at Inter as a young player and obviously going to Manchester City when we had a real close eye on him there.

"He’s a big talent."
