League Two club rules out Messi and Ronaldo transfers on Deadline Day

With transfer speculation at fever pitch, Morecambe Town have put supporters out of their misery by confirming two big names will not be joining the club.
Sky Sports have ratcheted up the frenzy in the transfer window year-on-year and Deadline Day is something more akin to a drawn-out drama than a sporting event, but has fans of every club gripped none the less.
Morecambe Town has sent a tongue-in-cheek tweet this evening that with the window closing in a matter of hours, the world’s top two players won’t be swapping La Liga for League Two anytime soon.
“Unfortunately we can confirm that both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will not be joining us this transfer window. #alwaysthenextone.”
Barcelona star Messi and the 2014 Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo have made no comment about any possible switch to Morecambe and we don’t envisage that to change before the window closes…we mean slams shut.
