The 19-year-old is regarded as the most exciting rising star in Brazil and is now expected at Chelsea on Wednesday to discuss a move.

Nathan flew into London on Tuesday ahead of his medical after being granted permission by his present club, Atletico Paranaense who are hoping to realise a fee of around £4.5million for the playmaker.

Jose Mourinho's side have been hugely successful in recent years in tapping into the market for Brazilian players with the likes of Oscar, Willian and Ramires in their first-team squad at present.

Nathan can play as a left-sided attacking player or on the wing and first sprung to prominence at the World Under-17 Championship two years ago.
