Arsenal are in talks to bolster their defensive options by signing Roma centre-back Alessio Romagnoli.
AC Milan are also in negotiations to sign the 20-year-old and have had three bids rejected, and now Gazzetta dello Sport says Arsenal have approached Roma to discuss a deal.
Romagnoli is valued at £24.4 million but no club has yet come close to offering such a fee.
We are told that Arsene Wenger has stated he won't be signing any new defenders this summer - but Romagnoli is such a top talent, he could make an exception.
Meanwhile, The Metro believes Arsenal are poised to make a 'huge offer' to sign striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
It is believed Borussia Dortmund won't consider selling for anything less than £31.4 million, especially after letting Ciro Immobile join Sevilla.
Aubameyang, who started out his career as a winger, has become more of a striker in recent seasons and scored 26 goals last season.
Jack Wilshere wants to hold talks with Arsenal to clarify his position, with Manchester City still interested in signing the England star.
The Gunners are well stocked in midfield - they have Aaron Ramsey, Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil, Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini, Francis Coquelin and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all fancying a central berth - and the 23-year-old is quoted in The Sun as saying: "I haven't spoken to the boss about my role but I will do before the start of the season."
Wenger does not want to sell Spanish full-back Nacho Monreal.
Reports in Spain claim that Athletic Bilbao are close to a £7 million deal and are willing to offer the 29-year-old a three year deal.
Arsenal are aware of the interest in Monreal but nothing is imminent and they are not looking to sell him after his impressive campaign last season.
Gunners boss Wenger has already hinted towards a new deal for Monreal who has one year left on his current contract.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has told Arsenal that he will not let star striker Alexandre Lacazette leave cheaply but admits an offer of £35 million would have to be considered.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Gunners and Liverpool this summer but Aulas insists he is "not worried" over the future of Lacazette.
"Of course, if a €50-60m (£35-42m) bid was tabled, I will no doubt have to prepare for his exit and wish him good luck," he told L'Equipe. "I really feel like he wants to stay."
And finally, Real Madrid are set to open talks with Arsenal over a deal to sign goalkeeper David Ospina.
The Colombian goalie is surplus to requirements at the Emirates following the arrival of Petr Cech from Chelsea.
Everton have made a £5 million bid, but The Metro now says Madrid are keen to sign him as back-up following the exit of Iker Casillas.
