Transfer Watch: West Ham target Remy keen on Anfield switch

Published 21/07/2010 | 05:00

Nice have rejected West Ham's £12.5m bid for striker Loic Remy as the London club battle for his signing with Liverpool and another unnamed Premier League side. Remy -- who prefers a move to Anfield -- would be allowed to go to West Ham if they made an initial down-payment of £7.5m. However, Remy's agent has said that another club is also interested.

DONE DEALS

arsenal are to sell striker Eduardo da Silva to Shakhtar Donetsk for £6m after the striker passed a medical with the Ukrainian champions.

Eduardo (27) is to sign a three-year contract with Shakhtar worth around £50,000 a week. He leaves Arsenal following the club's decision to sign striker Marouane Chamakh on a free transfer from Bordeaux in May.

Aleksandar Kolarov, the left-back, is expected to complete his £17m move to Manchester City today from Lazio.

DECENT BETS

Internazionale manager Rafael Benitez has admitted striker Mario Balotelli could leave the European champions, which will encourage Manchester City, who are believed to be preparing a bid for the 19-year-old.

Bolton Wanderers have made an approach to sign Hassan Yebda, the Benfica midfielder, who was on loan at Portsmouth last season. Several clubs have taken note after his performances for Algeria at the World Cup finals.

Panathinaikos's proposed transfer of William Gallas, who is a free agent after leaving Arsenal, is dependent on the Greek club failing to sign Cris, the Lyon defender, who is their first choice.

Manchester City have yet to increase their £20m offer for James Milner. Aston Villa rejected their overtures before the World Cup finals.

NO DEAL

Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra has pledged his future to the Spanish club despite an approach from Newcastle. The Mali international has said he wants to fight for a first-team place at the Bernabau.

Harry Redknapp has missed out on his second transfer target in two days as Luis Fabiano has decided against a move away from Sevilla. The Brazil striker was linked with Spurs, Manchester United and Milan. "I have never said that I will be leaving," he said.

LONG SHOTS

Sevilla have expressed an interest in Mikel Arteta, the Everton midfield player, who has hinted that he would like to return to Spain.

Dutch outfit FC Twente have put a £8.5m valuation on Cheik Tiote, the Ivory Coast midfield player, after interest from several Premier League clubs, including Fulham and Tottenham.
