The boy from Brazil struck a hat-trick as Limerick routed Sligo at the Markets Field.

Brazil-born Rodrigo Tosi led the rout, and Ian Turner and Lee-J Lynch were also on the mark as Limerick marked their return to the Premier Division in style.

There was only three minutes on the clock when Turner fired Limerick ahead after Lee-J Lynch's low drive was palmed into his path by Michael Schlingermann.

Tosi made it 2-0 from close range on 29 minutes after two Sligo defenders let a low Sean Kelly cross slip under their legs and he was on target again with a text-book header after Turner delivered a perfect cross.

Sligo sub Matthew Stevens reduced the deficit from inside the six-yard area on the hour, but there was never any chance of a comeback. Seven minutes later Tosi completed his hat-trick and Lynch made it five with a cheeky lob on 78 minutes just after Turner had missed a penalty.
