Tardelli gives Given the green light
SHAY GIVEN will return to training with the Irish squad this morning ahead of the flight to Tallinn for the first leg of the Euro 2012 play-off.
The Donegal native sat out training as a precaution with a neck problem yesterday and was joined on the sidelines by Richard Dunne and Keith Fahey (both knee) and Keith Andrews (cold).
But assistant manager Marco Tardelli confirmed there are no concerns about the quartet and they will make the journey to Estonia this afternoon. An FAI spokesman said that Given will '100pc' be training with the rest of the team before their departure.
Dunne has struggled sporadically with a knee problem this year and has tended to sit out some training sessions in the build-up to big matches.
Fahey left training early on Monday, but the Birmingham midfielder should be fine to take a place on the substitutes' bench. The Dubliner is vying with Darron Gibson and James McCarthy for the role of first-choice back-up to central midfielders Glenn Whelan and Andrews.
Motherwell goalkeeper Darren Randolph will be on the plane today, however, after third-choice 'keeper David Forde returned to Millwall with a thigh problem.
