Slovakia stumble to summit

Andorra 0 Slovakia 1

Filip Sebo scored Slovakia's only goal as they beat Andorra 1-0 on a terrible pitch in the Pyrenees principality.

Robert Vittek played a prominent role in the goal, setting up the Slovan Bratislava striker who finished from close range for his seventh goal in 11 internationals.

They had plenty of chances to add to their lead, but the Andorrans somehow managed to keep them out.

Sebo, Miroslav Stoch, Marek Hamsik and Peter Pekarik all missed chances before the break, and defender Martin Skrtel fired wide in the second period. The hosts never threatened.

Sebo was then teed up for a second with a fine pass from Erik Jendrisek but could not find the target.

The result puts Slovakia above Ireland on goal difference in the logjam at the top of Group B.
