Sligo roll over Saints

Superb goals from John Russell, Joseph Ndo, Eoin Doyle and Padraig Amond gave Sligo Rovers an emphatic victory at the Showgrounds.

Russell followed up his first goal for the club in Saturday's defeat of Bray with the opener on 21 minutes. He drifted in unmarked at the far post to head Richie Ryan's free-kick into the net.

Ndo also got his first goal for the club against Bray, and he bagged his second on 30 minutes after a brilliant move.

John Dillon and Ryan were involved in the build-up, before Ndo latched on to Amond's pass and fired past Dan Connor.

St Pat's reduced the deficit on 70 minutes when Conor Sinnott's shot in a crowded goalmouth found its way into the net. Rovers substitute Conor O'Grady tried unsuccessfully to keep the ball out on the line with his hand, and picked up a booking for his troubles.

But Sligo sealed a deserved win in the closing stages, when Doyle and Amond found the net to send Rovers through.
