Sergio Aguero Focus

Sergio Aguero took his goal tally to 21 for the season with a brace in Manchester City's 4-0 victory over bottom side Aston Villa on Saturday.
Manuel Pellegrini's men were shut out in the first period, but Aguero soon found his rhythm after the interval to help take the game away from the visitors as City scored four times in 19 minutes.
Here, Press Association Sport looks at Aguero's afternoon at the Etihad.
Only a brilliant save from Brad Guzan denied Aguero in the first period, while he also rifled a chance just wide before the floodgates opened after the break. There was a degree of fortune with the first as Micah Richards' clearance simply hit Aguero before going in, but his second was a fine finish from David Silva's dink over the top. He missed his hat-trick chance, though, placing his penalty against the base of the post when City were already four up.
Aguero and strike-partner Wilfried Bony complemented each other well in the first half, even if they were unable to find a way past Villa's defence and that combination eventually produced City's second goal. However, it was the hosts' third, and Aguero's second, that provided the moment of the game as Aguero scooped a pass into Silva, took the first-time volleyed pass back and finished beyond Guzan at the near post.
The home side struggled with their shape in the first period as Bony was selected up front and Silva drifted in off the left flank, but Aguero constantly moved between the lines and was easily City's most dangerous player. He found even more space when Raheem Sterling was introduced to stretch the visitors out wide and you wonder how many City would have got had the ex-Liverpool winger started.
Aguero has only scored more than twice in one game this season, when he helped himself to five against Newcastle in October, and he looked on course for a similar glut at one point on Saturday. City's title challenge may hinge on their talisman's ability to hit a run of form and he took his tally to 10 in his previous 10 games with his brace here.
