Sunderland have confirmed the departure of chief scout Bryan "Pop" Robson from the club.
New manager Paolo Di Canio declined to comment on reports that the scouting system would be overhauled at his press conference on Thursday, but the Black Cats have now issued a statement announcing Robson is leaving with immediate effect.
In it, chief executive Margaret Byrne said: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Pop for his contribution to the club and we wish him well for the future."
The much-travelled and highly-experienced Robson joined the club in 2011 under then manager Steve Bruce.
