Schalke turn down Blues' Kuranyi bid

BIRMINGHAM City's £2m bid for Kevin Kuranyi has been turned down by Schalke, who have valued the Germany forward at twice that sum.
Carson Yeung, the new Birmingham owner, has said that he will give Alex McLeish up to £40m to spend this month, but the manager is determined not to pay over the odds.
Kuranyi, who started his career at Stuttgart, has scored 19 goals in 52 matches for his country.
Tottenham Hotspur were in fresh talks to sign Inter Milan midfielder Sandro last night.
They failed in an attempt to sign the former Brazil U-20 captain in the summer.

Arsene Wenger has ruled out trying to sign Marouane Chamakh, who is out of contract at the end of the season, this month.
The Arsenal manager had an offer for the Morocco striker turned down by Bordeaux in the summer.
