SUSPENSION has weakened St Patrick's Athletic's hand for tonight's EA Sports Cup quarter-final with Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght Stadium.

Ian Bermingham, Greg Bolger and Anto Flood all miss out because they are banned. The Hoops are unlikely to be able to call on 'keeper Barry Murphy, who has resumed training but is not yet match fit.

David Elebert remains out while Thomas Stewart and Conor McCormack are doubts.

"This is the quarter-final of a competition we'd certainly like to win, so we're looking forward to the game," said Hoops boss Trevor Croly. A semi-final with Sligo Rovers is the reward for the winners.
