Saints to offload sinner Osvaldo

SOUTHAMPTON will try to offload Dani Osvaldo after suspending the striker for butting team-mate Jose Fonte.
West Ham target Rickie Lambert has been told he will not be allowed to leave St Mary's this month, with Osvaldo's future in severe doubt. Southampton suspended their record £15m signing for two weeks on foot of the bust-up that left Fonte with facial injuries. It is claimed that blood was drawn.
The incident took place in a training session, when defender Fonte upset Osvaldo with a tackle. The Argentinian responded by kicking and then butting Fonte and the pair had to be separated by stunned team-mates.
Osvaldo was also fined and suspended by former club Roma after allegedly punching Erik Lamela in 2011. He was already banned for Southampton's FA Cup tie against Yeovil tomorrow as he serves the final game of a three-match suspension for his part in a touchline altercation in December's draw against Newcastle.
Southampton are hoping to find a buyer for Osvaldo or a club who are prepared to take the 28-year-old on loan until the end of the season.
