Ryan Giggs linked again with move to take Celtic manager post
Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs is again being linked with a move to take over as Celtic manager.
Bookies have trimmed their odds on Giggs replacing Ronny Deila at Parkhead, after the current Celtic confirmed he would be stepping down at the end of this season.
Giggs was strongly linked with a move to Celtic earlier this season, but those rumours came to nothing and now he is being linked once again with the Scottish champions.
There is no indication whether Giggs would be interested in the Celtic hot-seat, but he has let it be known that he is keen to start his management career after three seasons working as assistant boss at United, first with David Moyes and latterly with Louis van Gaal.
United legend Giggs has been hailed by Van Gaal as his natural successor at Old Trafford, with many of the club's hierarchy apparently keen to see him installed as manager when the Dutchman leaves his post.
Yet rumours persist that United's owners are unconvinced that Giggs will be the right man to succeed Van Gaal, with the more experienced Jose Mourinho continuing to be linked with the Old Trafford hot-seat.
Giggs is believed to be unlikely to remain at United if Mourinho is appointed as manager, with a possible vacancy at Swansea another job the Welshman has been linked with in recent months.
The suggestion that Giggs may be in the mix for the Celtic job could see him go head to head with his former Manchester United team-mate Roy Keane for the post, with the Irishman among the early front-runners to take over at Parkhead once his duties as Republic of Ireland assistant boss conclude following this summer's Euro 2016 finals in France.
