An own goal by Keiren Westwood put the visitors on their way 16 minutes into the second half and then Tommy Smith headed home the second to condemn Coventry to a third successive defeat against fellow top-six sides.

Cardiff's automatic promotion hopes took a blow as Watford came from behind to win 4-1.

Andy O'Brien's own goal in stoppage-time denied Leeds a return to the top two as Portsmouth twice fought back from two goals down to draw 3-3.

Wes Hoolahan stepped off the bench to score a second-half hat-trick as Norwich won for the fourth time in five games with a 4-2 victory over Sheffield United.
