Young and Jones to get new contracts

Manchester United will attempt to secure new contracts for Ashley Young and Phil Jones before the end of the season and focus on resolving David de Gea's future after signing Chris Smalling to a new four-year deal.
Smalling, a £1m recruit from Fulham in 2010, signed a contract which ties him to United until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Preliminary discussions have taken place with Young and Jones, who is likely to be offered similar terms to Smalling. Young, however, may be forced to accept a shorter contract as he will be 30 in July.
De Gea's situation remains complex. The 24-year-old is attracted by a return to his home city to play for Real Madrid, but he has settled well in Manchester, and United's re-emergence means he can look forward to the Champions League.
