'You fired him on his birthday': Swansea come under fire for tweet 'looking back' on sacked manager's time in charge
The first manager of the Premier League season was sacked yesterday with Swansea opting to part ways with Francesco Guidolin after an indifferent start.
The Welsh side have battled hard in their last two games, homes losses to Man City and Liverpool, but their spirited performances against the league's top sides wasn't enough to keep the Italian in the job.
Swansea moved quickly in replacing Guidolin, who was fired on his 61st birthday, with American coach Bob Bradley taking charge.
It was an eyebrow raising move to many, not least to Swansea fans, who took to social media to express their surprise at the appointment.
Another post from Swansea caught the attention of fans though, with the club tweeting a link to an article 'looking back' on their fired manager's time in charge, hours after sacking him.
Many supporters thought that the post wasn't particularly appropriate, while others took a very strident view of the club parting ways with Guidolin on his birthday.
