Weimann on song for Villans

PAUL LAMBERT is heading for a bigger battle with Norwich next month but will have enjoyed his first taste of revenge after reaching a cup semi-final.

Lambert made his first return to the ground where he made his name and his new charges gave the scoreline a flattering appearance with three goals in the last 11 minutes.

Steve Morison gave the hosts a 19th-minute lead but they were ahead for barely two minutes.

Christian Benteke's knockdown presented Brett Holman with an opportunity from 20 yards and he spanked an excellent half-volley into the corner.

In the second period, substitute Charles N'Zogbia released Eric Lichaj on the left and his cross evaded the Norwich defence to find Andreas Weimann, whose finish was clinical. Weimann added another five minutes from time, sweeping in after good work from Benteke, before the Belgian completed a resounding victory with a wonderful finish. (© Daily Telegraph, London)
