Lazar Markovic, Harry Kane, Steven Gerrad and Moussa Dembele and Mario Balotelli all got on the scoresheet at Anfield tonight as the two in-form Premier League sides clashed on Merseyside.

Liverpool took just fourteen minutes to open their account against Spurs with a goal that Hugo Lloris may feel he could have dealt with better.

The Reds were rewarded for their early pressure when the Serbian midfielder charged through the middle and fired a shot which went past the French shot-stopper to the delight of the on-looking Kop.

The ball may have bobbled but a keeper of Lloris' undoubted talent would have expected to keep it out.

Just over 10 minutes later and the visitors were level through Kane after a neat one-twos outside the box before the English striker profited from slack marking to level proceedings.

After the break, Spurs defender Danny Rose conceded a penalty to Daniel Sturridge.

Captain Steven Gerrard made no mistake from the spot with this emphatic finish.

Eight minutes later and Moussa Dembele equalised for the visitors for the second time with strong suspicions of offside ans he chester in Eriksen's rebounded free-kick.

However it was second half substitute Mario Balotelli who stole the show with the fifth goal in a pulsating game eight minutes after his introduction.
