Ireland legend Richard Dunne has picked his best XI from the players he played alongside in the Premier League and two of his former Republic of Ireland team mates making the team.

There is a strong presence in the XI for Manchester City players but a number of his former comrades from days at Aston Villa, Everton  and QPR also make the grade.

Donegal's Shay Given is chosen at number one, Dunne said: "He's got a very big presence around his goal and he's constantly communicating with his defence. For that reason, I've picked Shay.

Despite only playing with Robbie Keane for a very short time at Aston Villa, Dunne has no hesitation in selecting his fellow Dubliner.

"Robbie Keane came to Aston Villa on loan for a few months and he was brilliant at a club and a team that was struggling at the time. I think he was player of the month for two months in a row."

Richard Dunne's Premier League XI:

Shay Given

Pablo Zabaleta  James Collins  Sylvain Disitn   Michael Ball

Shaun Wright-Phillips   Stylian Petrov    James Milner   Stewart Downing

Charlie Austin   Robbie Keane
