Garth Crooks didn't hold back when criticising referee Mike Dean claiming he was 'too officious' and ' wanted to be the star too often.'

Dean sent off two players during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Arsenal including Gabriel for a challenge on Diego Costa.

Crooks was speaking on final score on the BBC today.

"The only people interested in sending off Gabriel were the officials, the fans weren't, the players want," he said.

"Don’t look for excuses to send players off the pitch. Mike Dean is really good referee. But he's got one fault; he wants to be the star too often.

"It's really getting on my nerves because he's spoiling good games."
