In the second half of Stoke's 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium, Costa , in what seemed a harmless  incident, walked to the touchline to retrieve the ball after it had gone out of play.

When the Spanish international crouched down to pick the ball up, it seemed that he made contact with a nearby the steward. Costa then made his way back to the pitch and play resumed.

However, steward in question is reported to have made a complaint to the police.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have dismissed the accusation as "utter nionsense."
