The French international has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in recent days and would follow the likes of Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers out of St. Mary’s.

With his future the subject of repeated speculation, he met club official today for a meeting and jusging by his subsequent tweet, it would appear it did not go as well as the World Cup star had hoped.

“6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!,” he tweeted.

Team-mate Jay Rodriguez has also been linked with a move to Spurs, though Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger told Sky Sports earlier today that the pair would not be leaving.
