Sagna urges Gunners fans not to boo Gallas
Bacary Sagna has urged Arsenal supporters not to abuse former captain William Gallas on his return to the Emirates tomorrow.
Gallas joined Tottenham in August after turning down a new contract at Arsenal.
"He deserves a good reception from the fans because he always did well for Arsenal and was very professional," said Sagna.
"He always gave everything, even if he had some moments when people looked at him because of his behaviour. It was hunger because he wanted to win so much. Maybe he expressed it in a bad way, but he wanted us to win something.
"I know he is probably going to receive a bad reception but I think it is a bit silly because he is a professional player above everything. Football is football, I'm not against him joining Spurs. I am happy to play against William because he is my friend."
Jack Wilshere will have a fitness test today to determine his availability, although he has yet to train since withdrawing from the England squad with a back injury.
Robin van Persie will be available after gaining an extra 45 minutes of match fitness for Holland in their 1-0 win against Turkey following his ankle injury.
For Tottenham, Jermain Defoe is back in full training, with Peter Crouch adamant they will not be daunted by Arsenal's unbeaten home record in north London derbies under Arsene Wenger.
"We go into it full of confidence," said Crouch. "We have nothing to be scared of. We have some fantastic players and if you look around our dressing-room we are capable of beating anyone." (© Daily Telegraph, London)
