Robinson tipped for forest job

KARL ROBINSON is the early favourite to succeed Steve McClaren as Nottingham Forest manager, as the former England boss claimed yesterday that the club "didn't match my ambition".

"I resigned -- they don't share the ambition that I came for," said McClaren as MK Dons boss Robinson was joined by some big names among the early front-runners to take over the hotseat at the City Ground.

Martin O'Neill (11/2) and Roy Keane (8/1) have both been linked with a return to their former clubs while speculation suggests that Phil Brown, Brian Laws and former manager Billy Davies -- who took Forest to the play-offs last season -- are also in contention.
