Leicester star Riyad Mahrez has admitted that he had never heard of the Foxes before his summer move from Le Havre.
Mahrez was born in France to parents from Algeria and Morocco and has been key to Leicester’s success this year, scoring 14 goals and claiming 12 assists in a stellar campaign. He’s also been capped 22 times for Algeria, including games at the 2014 World Cup
“I didn’t know Leicester. In France we didn’t really (know them) because they were in the Championship. I thought they were a rugby club” he said in an interview with FourFourTwo magazine.
Claudio Ranieri’s men sit top of the table with ten games remaining in the title race.
