Question nobody asked: Is home or away form more important in the premier league?

The cliche says that three points is three points, but for those hoping to win the Premier League, it seems that it's the performances in front of their own fans, rather than on the road, that have most influence on their chances.
That's bad news for Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, as they have already dropped nine points at home in seven games, one fewer than they dropped in the whole of last season. Since the turn of the century, the team with the best home record has gone on to win the league on nine occasions in 11 years, including the last seven winners.
In those 11 years, there have been five clubs who have had both the best home and away record in the season (Man Utd 2007, 2003, 2000), Chelsea (2005) and Arsenal (2004). Liverpool (2002) and Arsenal (2001) are the only teams to have the best home record in a season without winning the championship. The last three years have also seen the team with the best away record finish second (Man Utd last year and Chelsea in the previous two).
