With the daunting European Championships double header looming, manager Martin O'Neill will be keeping a close eye on this weekend's Merseyside derby and the involvement of Seamus Coleman.

The Toffees take on their city rivals Liverpool on Sunday and Everton manager Roberto Martinez admits he has yet to make a decision on John Stones and the Irish full back.

The former Sligo Rovers man hasn't featured since the 3-1 victory over Chelsea with a hamstring injury and Martinez will give both of his defenders until the last moment to prove their fitness.

"They have progressed well since the West Brom game and we will make a decision as late as we can - we are going to leave it probably until the day of the game," he said at today's press conference.

Ireland take on world champions Germany next Thursday at the Aviva Stadium before ending the campaign with an away fixture to Poland the following Sunday.
