Watch: 'Keep your family and friends close' - Luke Shaw records classy message for Demba Ba
Luke Shaw has sent a heartwarming message to Demba Ba after the former Chelsea star suffered a horror leg break playing for Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.
The 31-year-old, who left Stamford Bridge in 2014, sustained the injury in the clash with Shanghai SIPG where his left leg tangled with defender Sun Xiang and was left at a right angle.
Shaw, who was a year out of the game after he broke his leg against PSV in the Champions League, recorded a video message of support for Ba.
"Hi Demba. I am so sorry to hear about the news of your latest injury. Obviously I have been through the same thing so I know how you are feeling right now," said Shaw.
"I think the main thing for you now is to keep strong and keep your family and friends close because for me that was the most important thing at the time when I first done it was to have the people I care about most to be right next to me.
"I am sending all my best and I hope the operations go well and your recovery goes quick and you are back on the pitch in no time and I am sure you will be stronger than ever."

It's not the first time that England international Shaw has shown his compassionate humane side.
Last week, Shaw penned a touching letter to an Irish family following the birth of their son just months after the tragic passing of their daughter.
Hardcore Manchester United fan Steve de Korte and his fiancee Sarah from Tipperary lost their beloved daughter Ava just six weeks after her birth last year.
The couple recently celebrated the birth of their son, Luke, and received a beautiful surprise today when a personal letter from Manchester United and England defender Shaw arrived.
The letter reads: "Dear Sarah and Steve. I just wanted to drop you a line to congratulate you both on the birth of Luke Robert.
"The last year or so has obviously been very difficult for you both after the sad passing of Ava. I have no doubt that you will ensure Ava's memory will live on and you will always remember the short time you spent together with your wonderful daughter.
"A big welcome to Luke, who I am sure has given you lots of strength and focus at this time. I am pleased to see that he is already wearing the colours of his favourite team."
