Manchester United will sell Robin van Persie and offload Radamel Falcao this summer to free up the cash needed to splash out £60m on Edinson Cavani.
While a host of English and European clubs have been interested in the PSG forward, United are convinced their superior spending power will win the battle.
With Van Persie nearly the exit door after a stuttering campaign and United set to reject the option of making Falcao's move a permanent one, Cavani has been identified as the player to deliver the goals and entertainment factor at Old Trafford.
The Star says that United are willing to pay out £60m to land Cavani and then hand him a £300,000-a-week deal to make him the joint highest-paid star alongside captain Wayne Rooney.
Cavani has suggested his future may lie away from PSG, saying: "For now I think only about finishing the season well here and give my best for the club that pays me.
"In Paris, I'm fine, but in football you never know what can happen in the future."
Atletico Madrid defender Miranda has ruled out a move to Manchester United this summer, despite being 'proud' that his name has been linked with the club.
Miranda has 18 months left to run on his current deal, but he remains committed to a long-term future at the Vicente Calderon.
"Of course this news reaches me (being linked with United), and it makes me happy. It shows I am doing well," he told Estadao .
"It makes me proud, but my intention is to stay at Atletico because I still have a year and a half on my contract."
