Man United 'to make £31m summer bid' for Atletico Madrid's Arsenal target Saul Niguez
Manchester United will bid £31m for Arsenal target Saul Niguez, according to reports.
Spanish news outlet Don Balon have reported that United will make the approach for the Atletico Madrid midfielder this summer.
The report adds that Niguez is currently unhappy with his contract with the La Liga side, and is seeking an improvement.
The 21-year-old has yet to play for Spain at full international level, but has played for his country at Under-16 to Under-21 levels.
Niguez has been an ever-present in the Atletico squad this season, making 24 appearances in the league.
United went within a point of fourth place after their 1-0 victory over rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
The 18-year-old striker Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game in the 16th-minute.
"The gap would have been too big if we had drawn or lost. It would have been very difficult," United manager Louis van Gaal said.
"Now it is in our own hands but we have to win our games. We have more home matches than away and we don't lose so much at Old Trafford... so we have a big chance."
Atletico are currently in second place in La Liga, nine points behind leaders Barcelona.
