Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s links with Manchester United refuse to go away and now French publication L’Equipe is suggesting the Swedish striker could be on his way to Old Trafford.
Ibrahimovic - who will be out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season - will line up for his national tea, against the Republic of Ireland in this summer’s Euro 2016 finals and by then, he could have already sealed a high profile move to a Premier League club.
After impressing in PSG’s Champions League win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, the striker who will be out of contract next summer was again linked with a move to the Premier League.
Now his agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that he has a plan in mind for his star client, but it remains under wraps for now.
“We know what we want, but we won't say anything until the summer when the season is over,” he told Swedish newspaper Expressen.
“We have a clear idea of what we want to do. I know what he's counting on doing, but we don't want you to know for the moment.”
Even though Ibrahimovic had previously stated he was “too old” to play in the Premier League as he edges towards his 35th birthday next October, he continues to be rumoured to be on a list of potential United transfer targets.
If Jose Mourinho is to replace Louis van Gaal as United manager at the end of this season - as has been widely reported in recent months - Ibrahimovic would be reunited with the coach he enjoyed a fine relationship during his successful spell with Inter Milan.
