Jose Mourinho has selected the same Manchester United side as the one that trounced Leicester a week ago for today’s early game against Stoke, with Wayne Rooney forced to make do with a place on the bench for third time in as many fixtures.

Having lost three games on the bounce, Manchester United responded by wining the subsequent three, two of which saw Wayne Rooney as a sub.

With bottom placed Stoke coming to Old Trafford, Mourinho has gone for continuity and selected the same XI that beat the champions.

David De Gea is in goal, behind a back four comprising Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia.

Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera are in midfield, with Juan Mata, Jesse  Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Zlatan Ibrahimović making up the front four.

Kick off is at 12pm.
